How to get there

Most European and many worldwide airlines fly to Prague. You may also fly to Vienna (Wien, Austria) - check your need for Austrian visas. You can also reach Prague by bus and train lines from several European cities; some of them serve Ceske Budejovice directly.

To continue from Prague to Ceske Budejovice (CB), the easiest option is to take a direct train from Main Railway Station (in Czech Praha, Hlavni nadrazi).

From Prague airport to the Main Railway Station

• Option 1:
  Use the Airport Express bus, which goes directly to the Main Railway Station. The ticket is purchased on board for 50 CZK (2 EUR). The bus departs every 30 minutes between 5 am and 10 pm and the ride takes about 30 minutes.
  


• Option 2:
  Use Prague public transport - at the airport, in front of the terminals, get on bus 119. Go to the terminus (Dejvicka). Right there, walk down to the metro (subway, underground) station Dejvicka (metro line A) and go 5 stops to the station Muzeum. At Muzeum, change to metro line C (direction Ladvi) and go one stop to Hlavni nadrazi. This takes 45-60 min.
  You need one 26 CZK ticket sold by yellow vending machines (outside at the bus stop, needs coins) or from the bus driver (increased fee for 30 CZK). The ticket is validated by inserting it into one of the stamping boxes on the bus at the airport.

• Option 3:
  Arrange Prague Airport Transfer beforehand.
  


• Option 4:
  Two regular taxi services, AAA radiotaxi and Airport cars, serve the airport. Unfortunately, Prague taxi-drivers are infamous for overcharging customers, especially foreign tourists. It is preferable to book a taxi before arrival.
  
  Maximum prices for taxi services in Prague:
  
  • Ride in the district of the capital city of Prague 28 CZK/km (1.12 EUR) (40 CZK/km at night)
  • Boarding fee (flag fall) 40 CZK (1.65 EUR)
  • Waiting charge 6 CZK / 1 min (0.25 EUR), including time spent in slow traffic and waiting at the customer's request.
  
  Should you go all the way to Ceske Budejovice: transfer between towns has no price limit but most taxi services charge 20-25 CZK/km. The price from Prague to Ceske Budejovice (170 km) should be 3000-4000 CZK (160 EUR).

From Prague to Ceske Budejovice by train

We recommend taking one of the frequent direct trains from Prague to Ceske Budejovice, which departs from the Prague Main Railway Station (In Czech: Praha, Hlavni Nadrazi). Tickets can be purchased in the main hall of the railway station (213 CZK one-way).
Discounts: a group discount is available for two or more people travelling together. No other discounts are available.
Almost all trains go daily (unless indicated otherwise; check the timetable here - in the Timetable field and write "Prague" or "Praha" into the FROM field and "Ceske Budejovice" to the TO field). The trip takes approximately 2hrs 40min.

From Prague to Ceske Budejovice by bus

Buses from Prague to Ceske Budejovice departure from these three bus stations:

To get to the bus station from the airport, go to the same search engine, select "Praha (without trains)" in the Timetable field and write "Letiste Ruzyne" into the FROM field and one of the bus stations above to the TO field. Get in touch with us if you need any assistance.

In Ceske Budejovice

The conference centre and the student hostel are next to each other (within 50 m).

The railway and bus stations in Ceske Budejovice are next to each other (within 200 m). From there, you can reach the conference centre easily by trolleybus No. 3 or by taxi.

The bus station is on the roof of a large grey building (a shopping centre). Get to the ground floor by the escalators and continue straight out of the building. Outside, turn right and walk about 20 m to the trolleybus stop. The railway station is across the street from the shopping centre and the trolleybus stop - use the underbridge.

Take trolleybus No. 3 and go to the stop "Jihoceska Universita", which is the 6th stop on this line. The faculty campus and the hostel are across the street (see the map). You need either a 12 CZK ticket purchased in a vending machine (similar as in Prague) or in a newspapers stand, or a 20 CZK ticket purchased on the trolleybus from the driver. Taxi stands are in front of the railway station. Request to be driven to the Biological faculty at Branisovska street (in Czech "Biologicka fakulta, Branisovska ulice"). Not all taxi drivers speak English.
Ceske Budejovice has no maximum price for taxi services; common price is about 35 CZK/km. The campus is about 4 km from the railway station and the price should not exceed 180 CZK.

Hotels listed in "Accommodation" are also within 4 km from the railway station.
