From Prague to Ceske Budejovice by train
We recommend taking one of the frequent direct trains
from Prague to Ceske Budejovice, which departs from the Prague
Main Railway Station (In Czech: Praha, Hlavni Nadrazi). Tickets can
be purchased in the main hall of the railway station (213 CZK one-way).
Discounts: a
group discount is available for two or more people travelling together.
No other discounts are available.
Almost all trains go daily (unless indicated otherwise;
check the timetable here - in the Timetable field and write
"Prague" or "Praha" into the FROM field and
"Ceske Budejovice" to the TO field).
The trip takes approximately 2hrs 40min.

The railway and bus stations in Ceske Budejovice are next to each other (within 200 m). From there, you can reach the conference centre easily by trolleybus No. 3 or by taxi.
The bus station is on the roof of a large grey building (a shopping centre).
Get to the ground floor by the escalators and continue straight out of the
building. Outside, turn right and walk about 20 m to the trolleybus stop.
The railway station is across the street from the shopping centre and the trolleybus
stop - use the underbridge.
Take trolleybus No. 3 and go to the stop "Jihoceska Universita", which is the 6th stop on this line. The faculty campus and the hostel are across the street (see the map). You need either a 12 CZK ticket purchased in a vending machine (similar as in Prague) or in a newspapers stand, or a 20 CZK ticket purchased on the trolleybus from the driver. The ticket is validated on the trolleybus as in Prague. The timetables are here.
Taxi stands are in front of the railway station. Request to be driven to the
Biological faculty at Branisovska street (in Czech "Biologicka fakulta,
Branisovska ulice"). Not all taxi drivers speak English.
Ceske Budejovice has no maximum price for taxi services; common price is about 35 CZK/km.
The campus is about 4 km from the railway station and the price should not exceed 180 CZK.
Hotels listed in "Accommodation" are also within 4 km from the railway station.

Buses from Ceske Budejovice to Prague
Follow the steps as when coming from Prague in reverse order. Mind that buses
from Ceske Budejovice to Prague come to three different bus stations (Praha "Na
Knizeci", Praha "Roztyly" and Praha "Florenc"), all served by the subway
